Sediment Surveys and Quality Assessment, North Sea and Coastal Harbours

A large-scale monitoring programme was performed to assess the quality of the sediments in the North Sea and the Flemish coastal harbours. Physical and chemical testing of the samples allowed for comparison to the quality criteria established by the Management Unit of the North Sea Mathematical Models and the Scheldt Estuary. Subsequent maintenance dredging of the maritime access routes to the Belgian coastal ports will be according to the Consultant’s recommendations.
