Communication and Promotion Geopark Concept, Caras-Severin

The rich cultural and natural heritage of the abandoned coal mines and quarries in the Anina area of SW-Romania was promoted in order to develop a consensus among the local authorities and stakeholders for the erection of the first Romanian Geopark. This park should be considered as a brownfield holding a large potential for ecotourism and “edutainment”. In addition to communication and marketing strategies, a proposal for an economical feasibility study was developed.
